FAQ

FAQ'S

  • Can I get replacement sling or cushions?

Yes, most of our manufacturers sell replacement slings & cushions. The majority of our sling offerings are replaceable, and usually tend to last around 10 years or more with basic care.  If you have your original receipt with the model numbers bring that in, if not simply take a picture of the chair so we can attempt to identify it.  If the slings/cushions are still available then we are all set to go!

  • Can I place a tv above my fireplace?

There have been a lot of questions regarding mounting TV’s above fireplaces (both modern and traditional).  HHT has been working on good faith engineering guidelines to help minimize risk of TV’s temperatures.  These are good faith recommended clearances only and not a guarantee of compliance with all TV manufacturers’ maximum allowable operating temperatures.   I believe this is a great start and provides you some documentation on recommendations.

The key dimensions to keep in mind are:

18” from fireplace opening to top of mantel/projection

Bottom of TV 2” min, 3” max above mantel/projection

TV Face minimum of 2.5” back from front edge of mantel projection.

If the TV is recessed into the wall so the outer most part of the face is flush with the wall, the mantel projection would only be 2.5”.  Note:  You cannot substitute a deeper wall recess in lieu of some type of wall projection.  A minimum wall projection of 2.5” is recommended in all situations.

  • Do I need to store my Patio Furniture inside during the winter months?

All of the outdoor furniture we sell is made for the outdoor elements.  But like with anything, the better you take care of it the longer it will last.   We recommend purchasing Outdoor Furniture Patio Covers.  Just put a cover over all the pieces so the snow and rain doesn't lay on it for months at a time.  Use the covers during the summer also, but if your furniture gets caught in the rain no worries, on a nice sunny day it will dry.

  • Is their a fan available for a direct vent fireplace or insert?

In most cases yes, in some models the fan is included.

  • Why do my new gas logs smell when burning?

Most logs come with a fresh coat of sealer on them from the manufacturer, when they first start burning this coat is what  you are smelling.  Burn the logs for a good few hours with the windows open so this can get burnt off.  Also sometimes at the beginning of the season a dust buildup needs burnt off,  that may be the smell as well.  If you have ventless gas logs they will have a slight fuel smell depending on how they are used. Crack open a window for a few minutes.
